Pete Rose is now eligible for Hall of Fame induction
So sayeth the commissioner. Pete Rose was banned from baseball in 1989 by then commissioner Bart Giamatti when it was deemed that Rose had bet on the game of baseball while manager of the Cincinnati Reds.
