The Jungle to the Hall rally, set for June 19, is an opportunity for superfans to take the next step in support of Bengals greats.
Bengals Twitter is very much alive. What goes on there seems to shape the perception of the team, according to… the team itself. The front office acknowledged this when it invited some more positive members of the community to get a behind-the-scenes look at the new uniforms before the official release.
You might even argue that fans’ clamoring for a Ring of Honor was a result of their loud presence on the social media platform.
Twitter has also been a great place for educating younger fans on the legends of Cincinnati’s past. There are countless tweets reminding the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell that guys like Ken Anderson and the late Ken Riley absolutely deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
Now, one prominent member of Bengals Twitter is trying to use that sort of camaraderie to rally fans in an effort to get team legends the attention they deserve in hopes that will boost their chances of making it into the Hall of Fame.
The event, called “From the Jungle to the Hall,” is being led by “Bengal” Jim Foster, who tweets old clips of Bengals greats on a daily basis. He also hosts a YouTube show with incredible guests, like Anthony Muñoz, Cris Collinsworth, and Elizabeth Blackburn.
It is for those reasons that he is the man to organize this important rally. You can find all the details and a link to register here.
Here are some necessary things to know:
Date: June 19, 2021
Time: 1 – 3 PM EST
Location: 2121 George Halas Drive Northwest, Canton, OH, 44708
The plan is to set up a tent next to the Hall of Fame and listen to speakers (both in person and virtually), including former players, who will make the case for players like Anderson, Riley, Isaac Curtis, Lemar Parrish, Corey Dillon, Willie Anderson, and more.
Before the official event, Foster has planned a tour of the HOF and indoor facility of Massillon Washington High School, “where it all started for Paul Brown.” They will also take pictures and see the statue of the founder of the franchise.
Bengals team reporter Marisa Contipelli recently joined our show to talk about the new schedule. But we also discussed the rally, and she said she thinks it’s “an absolutely great thing” and that she’s “really excited” to see what the plans are and to see the pictures not only from the event but from the trip to Canton.
