Penei Sewell remains the most popular pick for the Cincinanti Bengals in early 2021 NFL mock drafts.

Just look at two of the most recent offerings from the experts.

Over at Pro Football Focus, Anthony Treash has the Bengals sticking at fifth overall and making the move while explaining some of the Oregon offensive tackle’s strengths:

“Sewell recorded a 95.8 PFF grade in 2019, which still stands as the highest-graded season by a Power 5 tackle since 2014. At 6-foot-6, 325-pounds, it’s quite amazing watching Sewell move in space — the overall athleticism is off the charts. He earned a 95.7 grade as a run-blocker in 2019 and was also nearly perfect in pass protection, allowing just seven pressures on 491 snaps.”

In that mock, quarterbacks come off the board with the first three picks and Atlanta takes Joe Burrow’s college teammate Ja’Marr Chase at four.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler has the Bengals landing Sewell too:

The Bengals (and Joe Burrow) might be on pins and needles at No. 5, hoping Sewell gets past the Jets, Dolphins and Falcons. Sewell isn’t the flawless prospect some make him out to be, but he is still an outstanding player with his big-man balance and flexibility — and he doesn’t turn 21 until October.

There, Miami stays at three and takes Alabama wideout DeVonta Smith, which means Atlanta grabs a quarterback at four.

No matter what happens over the first four picks, Cincinnati will surely be hoping Sewell makes it to five. Sure, running back Joe Mixon might want to see the team draft DeVonta Smith, but protecting Burrow is the top priority.

Sewell would be a windfall of a pick for a Bengals team with nothing guaranteed at the tackle spots, plus a fun piece for new offensive line coach Frank Pollack.
