Taylor last played for the San Francisco 49ers.
Another addition has been made to the Cincinnati Bengals’ receivers room.
Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Bengals have signed free agent wide receiver Trent Taylor.

Taylor, a fifth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, played 41 games for the 49ers in three seasons. From 2017-18, Taylor registered 645 yards on 65 receptions as a rotational slot receiver. He also returned 40 punts for 359 yards.
In 2019, Taylor missed the entire season with a foot injury. He had surgery in August and hoped to return at some point during the season, but the recovery time took longer than expected.
Taylor stayed with the 49ers for the 2020 season, but in a much more reserved role. In 12 games played, he recored just 86 yards on 10 receptions. The 49ers elected to not re-sign him this offseason.
Cincinnati brought in Taylor for last week’s rookie minicamp as one of their five tryout players. Considering Taylor (27) was by far the oldest player participating and was wearing A.J. Green’s old No. 18 practice jersey, he stood out like a sore thumb. Evidently, he did enough to make the team.
Taylor’s role should resemble what Alex Erickson did for the Bengals over the last five years. Erickson, who signed with the Houston Texans this offseason, was the Bengals’ backup slot receiver and primary punt returner. Taylor has experience doing both of those tasks for the 49ers.
With Taylor in the fold, the Bengals’ roster is up to 84 players, now with 10 receivers.
