Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor land inside top-10 QB-head coach rankings

The duo is looking to get Cincinnati back in the playoffs.

The Cincinnati Bengals will be clawing their way back into postseason play in 2025 after missing it in back-to-back seasons.

The Bengals have seen quite a bit of success since drafting Joe Burrow in 2020, but it is clear that a Super Bowl is all the franchise quarterback cares about right now.

Zac Taylor has helped turn the franchise around as well, despite his struggles, and the duo has been on the same page since day one.

Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame also sees them as a top-10 quarterback/head coaching duo in the NFL currently.

Burrow and Taylor come in at number nine on the list, just in front of Eagles duo Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni.

“The Bengals might not have much defense, but they employ a good coach and a top-five quarterback. Burrow, the former No. 1 pick, had his best season in 2024, throwing for league-bests with 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns to help Cincinnati stay in playoff contention until the final day. With Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins signed long-term, expect more fireworks for years to come,” Verderame wrote.

The list is quite interesting, and there are some arguments that could be made with the top 10:

  1. Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes
  2. John Harbaugh/Lamar Jackson
  3. Sean McVay/Matthew Stafford
  4. Jim Harbaugh/Justin Herbert (???)
  5. Sean McDermott/Josh Allen
  6. Mike Tomlin/Aaron Rodgers (???)
  7. Kyle Shanahan/Brock Purdy
  8. Dan Quinn/Jayden Daniels
  9. Zac Taylor/Joe Burrow
  10. Nick Sirianni/Jalen Hurts

Hopefully, the Bengals duo can deliver this season and get Cincinnati back on track.
