Joe Burrow Doesn’t Hold Back Thoughts On Potential New NFL Schedule

Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow has seen the possibility of an 18-game schedule but wants an extra bye week if the new schedule gets approved.

He made that point in a tweet on Friday.

“18 games? 2 bye weeks,” Burrow tweeted.

If the NFL is going to keep expanding the schedule, he wants a little more time off so he can rest his body.

Burrow is coming off a right wrist injury after he tore a ligament in it during a Thursday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens last November. He had to miss the rest of the season and it resulted in the Bengals missing the playoffs.

He underwent surgery and is expected to be fully healthy for training camp this July.

The 18-game schedule is making the rounds after ESPN’s Stephen Holder reported that Roger Goodell is mulling an 18-game schedule with a Super Bowl during President’s Day weekend.

If that were to get approved, the number of regular season games would go up by one while a lot of people would have off on the Monday after the Super Bowl.

Fans have wanted that for a long time since the Monday after the big game is a work day for most people.
