Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently told onlookers that he’s on track to start Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season.

And he just did it again during Monday night’s title game between Ohio State and Alabama.

Appearing on the broadcast for an interview with some other notables, it was all eyes on Burrow as he fielded a question about his rehab progress.

Burrow, indicating feedback from doctors has hinted he’s ahead of schedule, said it “looks like it’s about 10 to 12 weeks out from surgery…I’m on track to do what I need to do this offseason to start Week 1,” according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

The former No. 1 pick also commented on his rookie season, per Baby:

“We didn’t win as many games as I would have liked and as everyone else would have liked within the organization and the city. But I think we built a great foundation going forward and a great learning experience for not only myself but for our team.”

Burrow just arrived at Paul Brown Stadium on Monday, as showcased in a video that quickly went viral. He’s on to the next portion of his rehab, with any hint he’s getting from doctors about being ahead of schedule classifying as great news for all involved.

We’ll see how things go from here, but Burrow didn’t exactly shy away from the topic on national television during one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
