Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco is officially questionable for Week 9 with a shoulder injury. However, despite the painful nature of the ailment, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the one-time Super Bowl MVP is expected to play against Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, and the Chicago Bears.

Joe Flacco Injury Update: Bengals QB Expected to Play Despite Shoulder Injury
Joe Flacco has been nothing short of a godsend for the Cincinnati Bengals, and his willingness to play through this shoulder injury could save their season. After losing Joe Burrow early in the year, the Bengals placed their faith in backup quarterback Jake Browning. However, Browning struggled with extended work, and Cincinnati acquired Flacco from the struggling Cleveland Browns.
This move proved to be a season-saving acquisition, as Flacco has found great success in his new home. During his three starts with the team, the quarterback has completed 64.3% of his passes for 784 yards, seven touchdowns, and no interceptions. He developed an immediate connection with Ja’Marr Chase, and while the team is only 1-2 in his three starts, he’s leading one of the best offenses in football. Joe Burrow could theoretically return in December, and Flacco’s ability to keep the ship afloat could save the team’s season.
Flacco originally began the season with the Cleveland Browns. Signed in free agency to compete with Kenny Pickett and, eventually, rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, the veteran won the Week 1 job and started the year under center. During his four starts, the veteran went 1-3 while completing 58.1% of his attempts for 815 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions. Eventually, he lost the job to Gabriel and the Browns sent him to the Bengals.
