The Cowboys All-Pro linebacker had some high praise for the Bengals first round draft pick Shemar Stewart.
Remember when the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football this past season? There was a shot of Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons walking off the field in disgust after the Bengals took advantage of a Cowboys special teams blunder and capitalized with a game-winning Burrow-to-Chase touchdown.
But make no mistake, Parsons is a smart football player. He’s also one of the most respected players in the NFL. Parsons is knowledgeable, and he knows a lot about other players in the NFL.
Parsons is also smart about prospects in the NFL Draft, including this year. He has some high praise for Bengals first round pick Shemar Stewart, an edge rusher out of Texas A&M.

“College stats really are deceiving,” Parsons said when describing how other really good NFL edge rushers didn’t have eye-popping numbers in college. “I mean, I never even had more than 5.5 sacks out of college.”
Not only that, but Parsons played only two seasons at Penn State and had a career-high five sacks in 2019. Through four seasons in the NFL, Parsons has at least 12 sacks in all four seasons.
Stewart has the “traits,” and the hope is the new Bengals defensive coaching staff can develop him into the edge rusher they hope he can be.
