Steelers trade for Jalen Ramsey, who has a history vs. Bengals

This should be fun to watch.

The Cincinnati Bengals saw a rival bring in a relatively familiar face on Monday. The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey in a trade with the Miami Dolphins.

In the deal, Pittsburgh sent Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami, reuniting him with the team that drafted him in 2018.

Ramsey has a history of playing the Bengals over the years. In 2017, the Bengals were playing in Jacksonville when Ramsey was a member of the Jaguars, and after some jawing, A.J. Green threw Ramsey to the ground before landing several punches to his helmet.

Ramsey also primarily defended Ja’Marr Chase in Super Bowl LVI, including Chase blowing past Ramsey for a big gain in the first quarter. Chase also broke free from Ramsey on the Bengals’ final offensive snap, but the pressure got to Joe Burrow before he could find Chase streaking down the sideline.

Pittsburgh is certainly going all in this year with some older veterans with big names, but this has the ability to be just as big of a bust as it could be a boom.

The #Dolphins and #Steelers have finalized a blockbuster trade to send All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey to Pittsburgh, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

Ramsey’s adjusted contract includes a $1.5M raise in 2025 making his salary $26.6M this year. Pittsburgh loads up. pic.twitter.com/hmRehEf4zS
