The Louisville native is the prized jewel in 2026.

The class of 2026 features a unanimous top prospect who’s poised to make an immediate impact wherever he chooses to play next season.

247 Sports updated their 2026 rankings, and it came as zero surprise to see Tyran Stokes remain in the top spot in 2026.

Even at 6-foot-7, 240 pounds, the Louisville native possesses the natural ability to initiate offense while being an electric playmaker. Stokes can take you off the bounce, overpower you with this strength, and pass the ball well.

His recruitment will undoubtedly be a dynamic one. Obviously, the hometown ties will play a role, considering Kentucky and Louisville are two of the frontrunners to land his services. Recently, Stokes spoke to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim and made an unsettling comment about his views on the

“Being from Kentucky means a lot to me, but representing Louisville really matters to me,” Stokes said.

I wouldn’t dwell on this simple comment too much, considering there is a long way to go in this recruitment and all of the heavy-hitters will be involved. Stokes visited Kansas back in April.

Jordan Smith from Paul VI Catholic moved into the #2 position. Mark Pope visited Smith back in April for the second time.

Talented guard Taylen Kinney checked in at #11 up from #14 in the last rankings.

It was announced that Kinney will be on UK’s campus next week for an official visit. The Kentucky native has been getting all kinds of Wildcat exposure as of late while participating in USA Men’s Basketball U19 training camp.

Mark Pope has already proven that he can effectively recruit top-rated prospects, but there’s always an extra layer of emotion when a Kentucky kid is involved.
