Four-star quarterback and two-sport star Matt Ponatoski will announce his college commitment on Sunday.
One of the nation’s top quarterback prospects is ready to make his decision.
Class of 2026 4-star quarterback Matt Ponatoski will announce his college commitment on Sunday, July 6, per a report from Steve Wiltfong.
Ponatoski, the reigning Ohio Mr. Football, is choosing between the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kentucky Wildcats, and Oregon Ducks.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller star is among the most decorated two-sport athletes in the country. In addition to earning Gatorade Ohio Football Player of the Year honors, he was also named the Gatorade Ohio Baseball Player of the Year, an elite distinction shared by legends such as Joe Mauer and Randy Moss.
On the football field, Ponatoski posted exceptional numbers as a junior, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 56 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He led Moeller to a 14-win season and a Division I state title game appearance while showcasing his leadership and athleticism. All of this has made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2026 class.
On the diamond, he was just as dominant, where he was batting a .437 batting average, 29 RBIs, 22 runs, 10 stolen bases, and two saves as a pitcher.
If Kentucky lands his commitment, it would mark a massive recruiting win for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats. With SEC competition and national powers in the mix, Ponatoski’s decision is set to be one of the most watched of the summer.
