North Carolina and Arkansas are also in the hunt.
The Kentucky Wildcats weren’t expected to keep anyone from last season’s roster after John Calipari left for Arkansas.
While that still is the likely outcome, Adou Thiero hasn’t completely shut the door on a return.
Per ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Thiero has cut his list to five, which includes Kentucky. The Pennsylvania native also included Pitt, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Indiana.
Thiero is testing the NBA Draft process, but the expectation is he’ll play at least one more season of college basketball.
NEWS: Kentucky transfer Adou Thiero is down to five schools, sources told ESPN.

While the numbers may not suggest it, the 6-foot-8 Thiero has the potential to be a major impact player wherever he lands next season, potentially an all-conference performer. And as Jeff alluded to, Thiero is projected as a late first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
As a 3-star true freshman ranked outside the top 100 recruiting rankings, Thiero appeared in 20 games while averaging 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game.
As a sophomore this past season, Thiero opened the season as a starter, but injuries led to him missing seven games. He still averaged a respectable 7.2 points on 49.2% shooting and 31.8% 3-point shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 21.3 minutes per game.
Getting Year 3 of Adou Thiero would be a monstrous win for Mark Pope. I’d still bet against it happening, but it is nice to see it’s still a possibility.
Maybe it means nothing, but Adou Thiero posted this on Instagram shortly after Mark Pope’s press conference.
Again, maybe it means nothing.
