Former Kentucky big man Amari Williams told a story recently about being punished by Mark Pope in practice.
According to Williams, Pope made the team run seventeen consecutive “17’s” because a player was late. A 17 is a conditioning drill where players sprint the width of the court 17 straight times.
“That’s when I knew certain things weren’t going to slide,” Williams said.
