The Cats make it into the top-seven for the five-star forward.

We are in list-cutting season, folks. With several of the Kentucky Wildcats‘ staff top players starting to focus in on their recruitments, Mark Pope and his staff are starting to get a clearer picture of what players might be in the top tier of potential commitments.

That picture got even clearer as 5-star forward Anthony Thompson trimmed down his list to seven schools. Joe Tipton of On3 was the first to report the news.

Making the cut alongside Kentucky are North Carolina, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Texas, and Ohio State.

Thompson, a 6-foot-7 and 185-pound small forward out of Hudson (OH), is considered a top-10 prospect in the class of 2026 by the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Mark Pope recently visited Thompson in April, which was shortly followed by an unofficial visit the talented forward made to Lexington in January.

The Cats seem to be in good standing for several of the top players in the 2026 class, but with some positive momentum in the recruitment of Tyran Stokes, it will be interesting to see the direction the staff goes.
