What happens when six former University of Kentucky cheerleaders are in the same wedding? A moment the Big Blue Nation will make go viral, of course.
Former Kentucky cheerleaders Autumn and Jacob Burnett got married last month at Warrenwood Manor in Danville. During the reception, Autumn, Jacob, and the rest of their wedding party made their alma mater proud with one of the most time-honored gameday traditions: the UK fight song and pyramid. Artist Rae Pawley recorded the performance, which featured Autumn and Jacob at the top of the pyramid with four of their fellow UK cheerleading alums, and other bridesmaids and groomsmen helping out, and posted it on social media. It’s been liked by almost 10,000 users and shared over 3,000 times on Instagram and liked over 6,000 times on TikTok. CheerTok plus BBN pride equals elite social media content.

Jacob cheered for UK from 2016-2020 and Autumn from 2017-21. Autumn, a native of Richmond, Kentucky, was born into a UK Cheer family, her mother Jennifer having cheered for the Cats in 1988 and ’89. Autumn’s little sister Ameilia also cheered for UK, graduating two years after Autumn. If you count Jennifer, that’s seven UK cheerleaders in one wedding party; the only thing missing was the mascot.
It’s been four years since Autumn cheered at UK, five for Jacob. Still, she told KSR that the pyramid and fight song are such a normal part of their old cheer routines that they didn’t need to practice (although she did give the wedding party a heads up that they’d be doing a stunt). What else do you expect from alums of a program that’s won 24 national championships, more than any other school?
Congrats to Autumn and Jacob!
