Hamdan is hoping for a fluent season for his offense.

Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats are gearing up to start preseason camp en route to their Week 1 opener against the Toledo Rockets.

The Wildcats’ head coach coordinators had Kentucky football’s Lexington Kickoff Luncheon Monday afternoon, where Stoops, offensive coordinator Bush Hamden, and defensive coordinator Brad While had a chance to speak to the media.

Hamden had a strong endorsement for the offensive line that, if true, bodes well for the 2025 Kentucky football season.

“This offensive line is going to remind us of some of the best offensive lines here,” said Hamdan.

Stoops made an effort this offseason to revamp the Wildcats’ line to protect the Incarnate Word transfer Zach Calzada, who is set to be the starting QB this fall.

The Wildcats gave up 27 sacks during the 2024 football season. The offensive line saw an increase in sacks allowed this past season compared to 2023, when they allowed only 22 sacks in 13 games. The line ranked 104th nationally in sacks allowed last year.

Hamden, who is entering his second season as the offensive coordinator, has faith in Calzada and this Wildcats’ offense. With the offense averaging 18.1 points per game last season, BBN is expecting a bit more out of Hamdan’s unit, which starts up fron with the Big Blue Wall.
