Kentucky had shown interest in Stojakovic.
Two of the biggest remaining transfers have come off the board, and one of them had ties to the Kentucky Wildcats.
On Monday, Cal transfer Andrej Stojakovic committed to the Illinois Fighting Illini, according to ESPN. Illinois was rumored to be the favorite once the former Stanford Cardinal entered the portal for a second straight offseason.
Kentucky had been in contact with Stojakovic when he first entered the portal this offseason after making a push for him last year. However, any interest this year ended once the Wildcats landed Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen.
In addition, Auburn transfer Chad Baker-Mazara committed to the USC Trojans, he announced on Twitter. It was unclear if Kentucky had any interest in Baker-Mazara once he entered the portal, but there was no chance he was coming to Lexington once Aberdeen committed.
He may not have come to Kentucky, but Baker-Mazara’s departure from the SEC is major news. He would have put Auburn in good shape for another strong year after winning the league last season.
