Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 recently polled more than 25 high-major college basketball coaches about current NIL numbers.
Goodman discovered that elite players are making as much as $4 million per year and even bench players are earning six figures.
The coaches Goodman spoke too said elite players (the top 10-15 guys in the sport) are making somewhere in the range of $2.5 to $4 million. Players that are projected to be all-league type players are getting something like $1.5 to $2.5 million.

Projected starters on high major teams are earning $500,000 to $1.5 million. Even project bench players are receiving $200,000 to $700,000.
Have we reached a point where these are pros instead of college athletes?
I polled 25-plus high-major coaches and this is what I came up with as far as salary numbers for this season.
Obviously, there will be some outliers but this is a pretty good feel for what guys are getting now.
