Liggins helped Kentucky end a 13-year Final Four drought.

DeAndre Liggins embroiled himself in Kentucky Wildcats history during the 2011 edition of March Madness.

Liggins says he still gets chills watching himself knock down that infamous corner 3-pointer that helped Kentucky take down the North Carolina Tar Heels for a spot in the Final Four.

The Wildcats led by one point late in the game, and after getting a key block on the defensive end, Liggins knocked down a dagger from the corner that BBN will never forget.

The Wildcats would go on to win 76-69.

The moment Liggins drained that corner 3, he knew he was headed to the NBA Draft.

“I wish I had stayed for my senior year. Once I made that shot, I knew I was leaving for the draft.” Liggins said in a recent interview with local media.

The Chicago, Illinois native had a solid NCAA Tournament for John Calipari and the Wildcats.

In the Sweet 16, Kentucky faced off against No. 1 seed Ohio State, and Liggins went for 15 points, six boards, and three blocks in the two-point win.

Then in the Elite Eight, Liggins ended a fellow blue blood’s season and finished the matchup with 12 points and the biggest shot of his life.

Looking back, Liggins is very appreciative of his time at the University of Kentucky.

“Making the shot against UNC was my favorite moment, and the hug with Coach Cal, it was a great end to my time with the Wildcats,” Liggins said. “The NCAA Tournament was a great time. Beating Ohio State, Princeton, and UNC was a great feeling and defines my time here.”

Liggins will now look to guide La Familia through TBT for a shot at the $1 million grand prize.
