The Wildcats offer another wide receiver.
The Kentucky football program, led by wide receivers coach L’Damian Washington, has been busy in the transfer portal and most recently offered Jackson State wide receiver Isaiah Spencer a spot on their roster.
Spencer, a 6’2 receiver, is dynamic with size and speed as he can also return kickoffs.
In addition to Kentucky, he has offers from Baylor, Cal, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Switching gears, the second round of the NFL draft begins tonight. After seeing former Wildcat Maxwell Hairston go No. 30 overall to the Buffalo Bills, there are several other Wildcats expected to hear their name called over the next two days.
Deone Walker is the first member of that group that comes to mind as he was at one time projected to be selected early in the first round. However, his stock dropped quite a bit towards the end of last season and he’s now expected to to be picked at some point tonight or tomorrow (if he continues to slide).
Other Wildcats that come to mind are center Eli Cox and linebacker Jamos Dumas-Johnson. They could hear their name called at anytime, depending on how high a team has them graded on their respective draft board.
A few more former Wildcats who are considered “long shots” to be drafted but could very well sign undrafted free agent contracts are offensive lineman Gerald Mincey, linebacker J.J. Weaver and offensive lineman Marques Cox.
Tonight’s coverage of the NFL draft resumes at 7 PM ET on ABC, ESPN2 & NFL Network.
