Knox Central’s Gavin Chadwell is only a freshman in high school, but he won’t have to wait any longer for a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky. Chadwell heard from UK’s Vince Marrow on Wednesday and somewhere in the conversation Marrow told him there is a spot on the football team for him when he graduates high school in 2024.
Chadwell tweeted the big news soon after they spoke:

At 6-5, 235, Chadwell plays tight end for Knox Central in Barbourville, Kentucky, but you may be more familiar with his work on the basketball court. Chadwell was the 13th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament’s MVP this past season and he became a breakout star through his excellent play in the tournament and KSR’s coverage at the event.

Now he has good reason to turn his focus back to the football field as he enters the summer before his sophomore season of high school with his first major offer from the home state school.
