Could a football team be coming to Lexington or Louisiville?
The United Football League is reportedly relocating teams to four new locations in 2026, and one of them appears to be in the Bluegrass.
Michigan, Houston, Birmingham, and Memphis are officially on the chopping block and are set to be relocated in 2026.
Great news for Kentuckians is that Louisville/Lexington has been listed as one of the new markets set to get a UFL team, according to PFN’s James Larsen.
The other three markets are Columbus, Boise, and likely Orlando.
It is likely the league is looking to find markets that do not have a current NFL team to help attract more of a fan base, which was clearly lacking in the stadiums last season.
This could be a big deal for Lexington (hopefully) as the city could be a home to a professional football team.
We will know more in the coming weeks, but this could be a lot of fun!

Blockbuster moves to be announced by the league over the coming weeks. https://t.co/u38LXejSEx
