You are gonna love this.
Kentucky men’s basketball is well into summer practice as Mark Pope’s second roster in Lexington looks to be a good one.
With a solid mix of high school recruits, transfers, and returning players, the Cats have one of (if not the) top rosters in the country. Leading the way and running the floor will be Pittsburgh transfer point guard, Jaland Lowe.
A third-team All-ACC selection last season for the Panthers, Lowe enters this season with a lot of weight to take over the role that Lamont Butler held last season. Early reports seem to indicate he is performing at a high level, but it is the overall play of the team that gets him excited for the 2025-26 season.
He sat down with Keith Farmer of BBN Tonight and spoke about his excitement for this team.
“Just how hard and detailed the guys are. Everybody wants to win, that’s our main priority,” Lowe said. “That’s why Coach [Pope] brought us here, to win and hang another banner, knowing the guys are on the same page, it’s really a collective effort.”
We have all seen the pictures of the updated practice facility with the No. 9 “the assignment” banners, and if that wasn’t obvious enough, Coach Pope and this staff have really implemented that mindset into this team.
Should be a fun season.
