Kentucky officially has its starting point guard for next season.
Jaland Lowe has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will play for the Kentucky Wildcats next season, he announced on Instagram.
“Can’t miss out on this opportunity,” wrote Lowe, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining in Lexington.
Lowe comes to Kentucky following a solid two-year career with the Pitt Panthers. This past season as a sophomore, Lowe averaged a team-high 16.8 points per game to go along with 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest. He was a Third-Team All-ACC selection.
The 6-foot-3 lefty from Missouri City (TX) scored 20 or more points 10 times this past season while reaching double figures 26 times. Lowe recorded the sixth triple-double in Pitt program history with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against VMI on November 18. A week later, he scored a career-high 28 points in an overtime win over Ohio State.
Lowe is now set to be Kentucky’s starting point guard next season. All eyes now turn to Otega Oweh, who is also testing the NBA Draft process and has until May 28th to withdraw.
