The top recruit is headed to Mizzou.
Jason Crowe Jr. has made his college decision, but it won’t be for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Instead, Crowe will spend what’s expected to be just one season of college basketball with the Missouri Tigers.
The 5-star class of 2026 recruit made his commitment during a Friday announcement that was streamed on CBS Sports HQ.
A consensus top-15 recruit, Crowe is ranked as high as fourth overall in 2026 by ESPN, followed by 247 Sports (fifth) and Rivals (13th).
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard is the son of Jason Crowe Sr., a lifelong friend of Kentucky assistant coach Jason Hart. Their bond was something that seemingly had Kentucky strongly in the mix for Jr.
Alas, momentum began trending toward Missouri in recent weeks, so much so that Kentucky wasn’t seen as a real threat coming into decision day.
Over the last month, Kentucky has become a bigger player in the recruitment of 5-star point guard Derron Rippey Jr., who earned a scholarship offer in June and has an official visit to Lexington set for August 1.
Kentucky has also picked up some steam in the recruitment of 5-star shooting guard Caleb Holt. Hopefully, Mark Pope is able to reel one of these big fish in.
