Could it be good news for the Cats?
Mark Pope and his staff have been incredibly active in the recruitments of several top-10 players in the class of 2026.
For many players, their recruitments will go deeper into the fall and winter as they plan official visits over the next few months. Well, Coach Pope and the BBN will get an answer on one player here in the next few weeks.
According to Joe Tipton of On3, five-star guard, Jason Crowe Jr, will announce his college decision on July 18th. He did not list any schools but the schools mentioned with Crowe most are Kentucky, Washington, USC, Alabama, Baylor, UCLA and a few others.

Crowe, a 6-3 and 170-pound combo guard out of Inglewood (CA), might be the one recruit that UK fans have had circled as a potential member of this class since day one of the Pope era.
Why is that? Jason Hart.
Coach Hart has a strong connection with the Crowe family, that dates back to their high school playing days. We have talked plenty about Hart’s California ties going to pay dividends with this class so top heavy with talent from the state. This might just be the first commitment to start that domino effect.
Crowe is considered a five-star player in the class of 2026 and is considered the No. 6 overall player in the class by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
Stay tuned folks. We might have our first 2026 commit very soon.
