Will Johnson make the final roster?
Future Kentucky Wildcats guard Jasper Johnson has advanced in the Team USA U19 training camp after the list was trimmed from 32 to 18 players.
However, fellow Wildcat Malachi Moreno did not make the cut and will be returning to Lexington.
The final cut from 18 to 12 players will be announced on June 21, which will be the official 12 man Team USA U19 roster.
Both Johnson and Moreno flew out with Coach Mark Pope, who is an on-court assistant for Team USA out in Colorado Springs.
Johnson will look to grind to make the official 12-man roster, while Malachi Moreno will now reunite with the Wildcats team in Lexington as summer workouts creep up on us.
If Johnson is selected, The FIBA World Cup is scheduled for June 28-July 6. However, I don’t believe this will interfere with Johnson’s readiness with the team for the 2025-26 college basketball season.
Fellow bluegrass star Tyran Stokes, who was recently on campus in Lexington, also made the cut, along with fellow 2026 prospects Jason Crowe Jr. and Christian Collins, who Kentucky is very heavily involved with.
18 finalists remain for the 2025 USA Men’s U19 National Team.
