Jaxson Robinson withdraws from NBA Draft, will follow Mark Pope to Kentucky

May 31, 2024 by Zags Blog

By SAM LANCE

Jaxson Robinson, the sixth man of the year for BYU last season under Mark Pope, will withdraw from the NBA draft and follow Mark Pope to Kentucky via his X.com page.

Robinson — the 6-foot-7, 190-pound guard from Ada (OK) — averaged 14.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 26.5 minutes per game off the bench.

Kentucky has radically changed its 3-points shooting prowess with this move. The Wildcats and Pope have also now picked up a whopping nine players from the transfer portal. This includes Robinson, former Dayton guard Koby Brea, former Oklahoma State center Brandon Garrison, former Drexel forward Amari Williams, former Wake Forest small forward Andrew Carr, former San Diego State guard Lamont Butler, former Oklahoma guard Otega Oweh, former Fairleigh Dickinson forward Ansley Almonor and former West Virginia guard Kerr Kriisa.

Kentucky’s 2024-25 roster with just 1 slot left:

PG: Lamont Butler, Kerr Krissa
SG: Jaxson Robinson, Koby Brea, Colin Chandler, Travis Perry
SF: Otega Oweh, Trent Noah
PF: Andrew Carr, Ansley Almonor
C: Amari Williams, Brandon Garrison

The key will be how all the pieces mesh,…

Robinson was in the pre-NBA draft process and waited down until the last minute to make his decision to return to school. Next year will be Robinson’s fifth in college and Kentucky will be his fourth school.
