Former Kentucky star Julius Randle has officially signed a new three-year contract extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Terms of the new contract were not released, but Shams Charania reported several weeks ago that the deal was roughly $100 million for three years.
Randle averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists last season for Minnesota.

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has re-signed forward Julius Randle. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
In his first season with the Timberwolves, Randle saw action in 69 games (all starts), averaging 18.7 points on 48.5% shooting, including 34.4% from three, 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 32.3 minutes per game. Randle finished the 2024-25 campaign with totals of 1,288 points, 487 rebounds and 323 assists, becoming the first player in franchise history to record 1,200+ points, 400+ rebounds and 300+ assists in his first 69 games with the team. He ended the season with three 30+ point games, 36 20+ point performances, 14 10+ rebound games and 14 double-doubles. Randle finished the final 21 games of the regular season averaging 18.2 points on 52.3% shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 31.7 minutes per game with the Wolves going 17-4 in that span.
Randle led the way for the Timberwolves against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 17, finishing with a team-high and season-high 35 points on 11-of-20 shooting, including a season-high-tying 5-of-11 from deep and seven assists. In the Nov. 17 game against the Suns, Randle connected on a 25-foot three-pointer as time expired to give the Wolves the victory, marking his first game-winning field goal at the buzzer of his career.
In a career-high 15 playoff games (all starts) for the Timberwolves this season, Randle averaged a playoff-career-best 21.7 points on a playoff-career-high 50.2% shooting, 5.9 rebounds and a playoff-career-best 4.9 assists per game. In Minnesota’s 102-97 win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals on May 10, he notched his first career playoff triple-double, ending the game with 24 points, 10 rebounds, playoff-career-high 12 assists and three steals. He joined Kevin Garnett (3x; MR: April 21, 2004 vs. Denver) as the only other player in franchise history to record a playoff triple-double and the first player to do so with multiple steals.
Randle, 30, has appeared in 710 regular season games (630 starts) in 11 NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks and Timberwolves, averaging 19.0 points on 47.1% shooting, 9.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 32.0 minutes per game. Randle has seen action in 30 career playoff games (all starts) and holds career playoff averages of 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 34.8 minutes per game.
The Dallas native is a two-time All-NBA selection (Second Team in 2020-21 and Third Team in 2022-23), a three-time All-Star (2021, 2023 and 2024) and was named the 2020-21 NBA Most Improved Player.
Randle was originally acquired by the Timberwolves via trade with the Knicks on Oct. 2, 2024.
