Some fun facts about the numbers for the roster:
The last player to wear No. 31 for Kentucky was Dale Brown in 1992-93. Kellan Grady is the first player in almost 30 years to wear it.
Oscar Tshisbwe is the first player since Julius Mays in 2012-13 to wear the No. 34. Before Tshiebwe, there was a nine-year drought of the No. 34 being worn, the longest drought in UK basketball history.
Bryce Hopkins becomes yet another No. 23 for Kentucky. Some notable No. 23’s include Anthony Davis, Jamal Murray, Jodie Meeks, Derek Anderson, Roger Harden, EJ Montgomery, and most recently Isaiah Jackson.
For the 12th straight season, a scholarship player will not be wearing the No. 24 for Kentucky. The last player to wear it was EJ Floreal in 2015-16, who ran track for Kentucky and served as a walk-on.
This will be Jacob Toppin’s second season wearing No. 0. There have only been five players in the history to wear #0 for UK and all have been big names while in Lexington: Enes Kanter, De’Aaron Fox, Quade Green, Ashton Hagans, and now Jacob Toppin.
