The Wildcat commit earns a spot on the elite roster for the upcoming FIBA Women’s World Cup in Czechia.
Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball commit Maddyn Greenway continues to shine on the national stage.
On Monday, USA Basketball announced the 5-foot-8 point guard from Minnesota has been officially added to the 2025 USA Women’s U19 National Team roster ahead of the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup in Brno, Czechia.
Greenway, a four-star guard from Providence Academy and a member of the 2026 recruiting class, will make her competitive debut for Team USA after just missing the final cut in previous years. She was a finalist for the 2023 U16 National Team and participated in trials for the 2024 U17 squad. Earlier this month, she was one of 25 athletes invited to U19 trials and now gets her long-awaited shot to represent her country.
She joins an elite 12-player roster that includes some of the top talent in the nation, selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee. The team will first train in Colorado Springs before heading overseas for the tournament, which runs July 12–20. Team USA will compete in Group A against Korea, Hungary, and Israel.
Greenway’s addition to the roster is not only a milestone for her career but also a significant boost for Kentucky. Head coach Kenny Brooks is assembling a promising future with four-star guard Greenway and recent commit 5-star wing Savvy Swords.
Fans can catch Team USA’s opening game against Korea on July 12 at 2:15 p.m. ET.
