Kentucky commits DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw appear to have played their final high school game

D.J. Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw, both Kentucky commits and five-stars in the class of 2023, appeared to have played their final high school game following a brawl that broke out in Thursday night’s County Tournament Championship between Camden (NJ.) and Camden East Side (NJ.)

The duo won the New Jersey Group 2 state title last year for Camden but won’t get to defend it in 2023.

“On behalf of the Camden High School Basketball Team, I want to sincerely apologize to the fans, parents, family, and community for the incident last night at the Camden vs Eastside Basketball game,” Camden head coach, and former Villanova guard, Maalik Wayns said in a statement on Twitter. “In the midst of an intense rivalry game between two great schools, emotions got involved, leading to a situation that should never have occurred… Physical violence is never the answer.”

Following Thursday’s mele, the Camden City School District announced they would be officially removing both teams from the tournament, a move that the NJSIAA fully supported in a statement.

Both Wagner and Bradshaw were selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game March 28 in Houston. They are among four Kentucky commits in the game, along with Justin Edwards and Reed Sheppard.
