Mark Pope continues to vet the transfer portal.
We’ve got two new names to monitor for Kentucky Basketball.
Per KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky has contacted Florida State forward Baba Miller, who is in the transfer portal while testing the NBA Draft waters.
And according to Recruits Zone, the Wildcats have made contact with Alabama guard Kris Parker.
Alabama transfer Kris Parker tells me that he has heard from the following schools since entering the portal:
Illinois
Kentucky
UCF
Ole Miss
Ohio St
Oregon
Memphis
Maryland
Miami
Cincinnati
Vanderbilt
Tulsa
Marshall
FAU
Fresno St
San Diego St
UTSA

Miller, a 6-foot-11, 204-pound native of Spain, was originally a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022 ranked 47th nationally and 11th among centers, according to 247 Sports Composite. His other finalist was Gonzaga.
As a freshman, Miller appeared in 15 games (two starts), averaging 4.3 points (47.4% shooting and 25% on 3s) and 3.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game.
This past season as a sophomore, he averaged 7.6 points (44.9% shooting and 29.3% on 3s), 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 24.7 minutes per game. Of his 6.2 field-goal attempts per game, 2.5 of them came from deep.
You’ve probably noticed a trend by now in Mark Pope showing interest in big men who can space the floor, and Miller is the latest, though I’m sure Pope is hoping to find someone with a little more consistency there. Miller was just 2/13 from deep over his final six games last season.
As for Parker, the 6-foot-9, 195-pound native of Florida was a 4-star class of 2023 recruit ranked 99th overall and 24th among small forwards, according to 247 Sports Composite.
He did not play in the Tide’s first two games last season due to an eye injury sustained in practice, and he was ultimately redshirted. That means he’ll have four seasons of eligibility remaining at his next school.
