The path is set.
The Kentucky Wildcats have earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, it was revealed on Monday. It’s the program’s highest seed ever.
Also making the Lexington Regional are 2-seed Indiana State, 3-seed Illinois, and 4-seed Western Michigan. Kentucky will host Western Michigan in Friday’s opener, while Illinois will battle Indiana State.
This will be a region of champions, as Kentucky shared the SEC regular-season title with Tennessee, while Illinois was the Big Ten regular-season champion. Western Michigan won the MAC Tournament, and Indiana State claimed the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title.
If the Wildcats advance to the Super Regional, they’ll host the winner of the Corvallis Regional, led by 1-seed Oregon State.
