Kentucky earns No. 2 overall seed in NCAA Tournament; will face Western Michigan on Friday

May 28, 2024 by A Sea Of Blue

The path is set.

The Kentucky Wildcats have earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, it was revealed on Monday. It’s the program’s highest seed ever.

Also making the Lexington Regional are 2-seed Indiana State, 3-seed Illinois, and 4-seed Western Michigan. Kentucky will host Western Michigan in Friday’s opener, while Illinois will battle Indiana State.

This will be a region of champions, as Kentucky shared the SEC regular-season title with Tennessee, while Illinois was the Big Ten regular-season champion. Western Michigan won the MAC Tournament, and Indiana State claimed the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title.

If the Wildcats advance to the Super Regional, they’ll host the winner of the Corvallis Regional, led by 1-seed Oregon State.

For fans looking to attend this week’s games, all-session tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, May 28th at 9 am ET. All-session tickets include admission for all six/seven games of the regional tournament. Each session consists of a single game, and the stadium will be cleared between each game. Fans are encouraged to purchase all-session tickets to secure the best seat locations, as all chairbacks will be reserved.
