The news of the Robert Morris game was first broken by former KSR writer and current Kentucky Roll Call co-host TJ Walker, who reported that it will take place on November 12 at Rupp. Presumably, the Ohio and Mount St. Mary’s games will happen around that time frame as well. Here’s the schedule as we know it:
— Nov. 9 vs. Duke (Champions Classic)
— Nov. 12 vs. Robert Morris
— TBA vs. Ohio
— TBA vs. Mount St. Mary’s
— TBA vs. Albany
— TBA vs. North Florida
— Dec. 4 at Michigan
— Dec. 11 vs. Notre Dame
— Dec. 18 vs. Ohio State (CBS Sports Classic)
— TBA vs. Louisville
— Jan. 29 at Kansas (Big 12/SEC Challenge)
This will be Kentucky’s fourth game vs. Robert Morris, the most infamous of which happened in March 2013, when the Colonials upset the Cats in the first round of the NIT in Moon Township, PA. Kentucky got its revenge the next November, beating Robert Morris 87-49 in the Keightley Classic.
Kentucky has a 14-1 record vs. Ohio, the most recent win coming in 2005 when the two teams used to play at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati. The Bobcats play in the Mid-American Conference and finished last season 17-8, losing to Creighton in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Mount St. Mary’s is Kentucky’s most recent foe, participating in the BBN Showcase in 2019. The Mountaineers stayed with the Cats for a half, trailing by only five at the break, but Immanuel Quickley sparked an 18-3 run in the second half to help Kentucky pull away to the 82-62 win.
