Mark Pope and the Wildcats aren’t done yet working the transfer portal.
Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats have had a really successful offseason in the transfer portal.
It appears, however, that they aren’t done working the portal, especially after Travis Perry entered it. They’re also awaiting Otega Oweh’s decision on whether he will be back next season as he goes through the NBA Draft process.
Miami Hurricanes guard Divine Ugochukwu has heard from Kentucky, one of 14 schools Ugochukwu has heard from, according to Sam Kayser. Texas Tech, Baylor, Pitt, Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Virginia Tech are among the others who’ve reached out.
Ugochuwku has played one season of college basketball. In 2024-25, the 6-foot-3 190-pound guard averaged 5.3 points per game and 2.3 assists per game. He also averaged 1.9 rebounds and one steal per game.
During the season, Ugochukwu scored in double figures in three games and had 16 games with multiple assists while playing 20.2 minutes per game. He became the first Miami freshman with 10+ rebounds vs. Duke since 2020.
One to watch for.
