Kentucky is showing interest in a rising 5-star forward who’s gaining national attention.
The Kentucky Wildcats are making moves on the 2026 recruiting trail, and one of their newest targets is Cam Williams, who is a 6-foot-11, 200-pound forward out of St. Mary’s in Phoenix, Arizona.
Williams told On3’s Jamie Shaw that Kentucky has begun reaching out recently, signaling early interest from head coach Mark Pope and his staff.
Williams, a 5-star prospect in the 2026 class, first popped onto Kentucky’s radar during the Adidas 3SSB session in Council Bluffs, Iowa, back in May, according to Jacob Polacheck of KSR.
Since then, his stock has continued to rise while suiting up for the Compton Magic on the 3SSB circuit, which is a team that also features 2027 5-star Bruce Branch. Pope and assistant Cody Fueger were in attendance Thursday to scout both players in a matchup against Jalen Green Elite.
“I like how they’re known for putting players in the league,” Williams told Polacheck of KSR+ earlier this summer. “They’re obviously one of the best programs in the country. I like Coach Pope. He seems like a great coach.”
Williams is also hearing from several other powerhouse programs. He’s already scheduled official visits to Texas, Purdue, Duke, and USC this fall.
As of now, no scholarship offer has been made to Williams, but it may be only a matter of time until that comes.
