The Kentucky men’s basketball program received an NABC Team Academic Excellence Award on Thursday.
Also, a group of seven UK players were selected to the NABC Honors Court. The seven players were Lamont Butler, Koby Brea, Grant Darbyshire, Walker Horn, Otega Oweh, Jaxson Robinson and Zach Tow.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s basketball team’s academic performance during the 2024-25 school year was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches who named the Wildcats as a recipient of the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award on Thursday.
Additionally, seven UK players were selected to the NABC Honors Court, a group which includes Lamont Butler, Koby Brea, Grant Darbyshire, Walker Horn, Otega Oweh, Jaxson Robinson and Zach Tow.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Butler started all 27 games in which he appeared for Kentucky this season and averaged 11.4 points, 4.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting career-best marks from the field (.498) and 3-point range (.391).
Brea saw action in all 36 games and averaged a career-high 11.6 points her game, shooting 43.5 percent from behind the 3-point line and totaling 93 made 3s, the seventh-most made 3s in a single season in program history.
Darbyshire appeared in two games, including the team’s NCAA Tournament win over Troy. In addition to being named to the NABC Honors Court, Darbyshire was also named to the Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll and inducted into UK’s Frank G. Ham Society of Character.
Horn played in five games in 2024-25 and picked up an assist in the Wildcats’ win over Brown.
Oweh was the team’s leading scorer and an All-SEC second team selection. He set new career benchmarks in points per game (16.2), rebounds per game (4.7), assists per game (1.7), steals per game (1.6), blocks per game (0.5) and free throw percentage (.776).
Robinson was a finalist for the Julius Erving Award, averaging 13.0 points across 24 games played. He scored in double-figures 17 times and made at least one triple in his final 21 contests of the season.
Tow appeared in two games, making his Kentucky debut vs. LSU in the home finale, and then again seeing action in the NCAA Tournament victory over Troy.
