LEXINGTON, Ky.– The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team was selected as an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament, the 32nd appearance in the program’s storied history. The Cats will open up their tournament run against Old Dominion at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, May 2 at the Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, N.C..

The Cats and the Monarchs will be one of two first round matchups taking place on Friday, with host and overall No. 1 seed Wake Forest playing Gardner-Webb at 5 p.m. ET. The two opening round victors will meet in the second round on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET with a trip to the Super Regional round on the line.

The 2025 edition of the tournament marks the ninth consecutive iteration of the event in which Kentucky has participated. The Wildcats have also advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in each of the last three seasons, including a program-best Runner-Up finish in 2022.

This will be the first time since 2019 that the Wildcats have opened up the NCAA Tournament away from Lexington. The Cats have twice played opening round matchups in Winston-Salem, falling to the Demon Deacons in second round contests in both 2017 and 2019.

The Wildcats concluded the 2025 regular season with a 16-11 record, including a perfect 14-0 mark in home matches.

The Wildcats played six of the sixteen national seeds during the regular season and were able to notch victories over Mississippi State and South Carolina.
