Kentucky football coaches have been hitting the road ahead of what should be a busy June for official visits in Lexington. As players secure dates for summer trips to college campuses, one star player from the Sunshine State has made the Wildcats one of his finalists.
Four-star ATH Jordan Crutchfield tells On3’s Chad Simmons that he is down to six schools: Florida State, Mississippi State, Auburn, Miami, Louisville, and Kentucky.
Notice the last two schools mentioned? Even though he’s from Florida, and the Canes and Gators are in the mix, right now this is firmly a Governor’s Cup recruiting battle. They are the only schools where he has confirmed official visits scheduled. He will be in Lexington on June 6, followed by a trip to Louisville a week later.
“I have a great relationship with coach (Chris) Collins at Kentucky. He makes me feel like family. I had a great visit up there, it is a good atmosphere and I like how everything is compact and close together around the campus,” Crutchfield said earlier this spring.
Crutchfield is a four-star talent, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, considered the No. 23 ATH in the country. He has the ATH tag because of his ability to make plays as a wide receiver and cornerback. He has the desired traits of a cornerback in the Kentucky defensive system. Crutchfield is lengthy at nearly 6-foot-3, and plays with a ton of physicality on the edge.
The Kentucky football program could use some recruiting momentum. Securing a commitment over the Cards to start the summer is just what the doctor ordered.
