Kentucky WBB had one of the most efficient offenses in college basketball last season

Under Kenny Brooks last season, Kentucky had one of the most efficient offenses in college basketball. The Cats ranked 30th in points per game (75.9), but the metrics go beyond that.

As a team, Kentucky had an effective field goal percentage of 51.3%, good enough for 35th in the nation. That ultimately translates to being able to put up points efficiently — making every trip down the floor count. Kentucky scored 1.08 points per scoring attempt (36th) this season, which resulted in 0.91 points per play (22nd).

With the talent that is returning for the upcoming season, Kentucky should once again be among the best offensive teams in the country.

Teonni Key, for example, shot 50.4% from the field, and Clara Strack wasn’t too far behind her with a 48.8% clip. Tonie Morgan was just above that at 48.9% from the field, and Dominika Paurová shot 48% her freshman year at Oregon State. Josie Gilvin shot better than all of them as a junior, making 53.2% of her shots (43rd).

Kentucky could be really, really fun to watch next season with the offensive firepower they should have.
