Kriisa was a key member of Arizona teams that won a combined 61 games over a two-year span.
The Kentucky Wildcats are on the board again!
Earlier today, The Athletic’s Kyle Tucker reported that Kentucky was expected to land two pledges today, the first being Dayton wing Koby Brea.
Now, the Wildcats have landed a pledge from West Virginia Mountaineers transfer point guard Kerr Kriisa, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
NEWS: West Virginia transfer Kerr Kriisa has committed to Kentucky, he told ESPN.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound native of Estonia was a class of 2020 international recruit ranked 69th overall and 12th among point guards via 247 Sports. He spent three seasons with the Arizona Wildcats, then transferred to West Virginia this past year but wasn’t eligible until the season half of the season. He averaged 11 points (42.9% shooting and 42.4% on 3s), 2.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 33.5 minutes per game in 23 starts.
Kriisa entered the portal once the offseason began, and he’s now joining Mark Pope’s bunch. Pope actually pursued Kriisa twice, first out of high school, then in the transfer portal last offseason.
It was Kriisa’s time in Arizona that he became one of the better point guards in college basketball. After playing the 1 and 2 spots as a true freshman, Kriisa primarily ran the point over the next two seasons while helping the Wildcats win a combined 61 games.
In the 2021-22 season, Kriisa averaged 9.7 points on 34.8% shooting from the field and 33.6% from deep, 4.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game.
In the 2022-23 campaign, Kriisa averaged 9.9 points (37.2% shooting and 36.6% on 3s), 5.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Kriisa now gives Kentucky some security at the point guard position, though he’ll probably be more of a limited role player and not someone who plays 30+ a game every night. Lamont Butler is also capable of running the point, so perhaps we’ll see Kriisa run the second unit off the bench.
