Koby Brea wants to be known as more than just a shooter, but he’s still pretty darn good at shooting the basketball.
And that prowess was fully displayed Tuesday in Chicago at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. After he was officially measured by the league the day prior, Brea participated in several shooting drills in front of NBA scouts and personnel — the pressure didn’t seem to get to him, either. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Brea ranked among the top 10 shooters in the entire Combine (out of roughly 75 participants), making 69 percent of his overall shots throughout the day.
While we don’t know how well Brea performed in every shooting drill, we do know he shot 15-25 (60 percent) in the 3-Point Star drill (basically an around-the-world style drill) and 21-30 (70 percent) in the Shooting Off the Dribble drill. Not a bad day at the office for the elite marksman.
Brea, who played four seasons at Dayton before transferring to Kentucky for his final college run, continues to trend as a second-round draft pick. Most mock drafts out there have him slotted somewhere in the 40s and 50s, with Yahoo! Sports going so far as to project him as the 34th overall pick.
The 2025 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Despite being the only prospect at the Combine with a negative wingspan (he was measured at 6-foot-5.75 without shoes compared to his wingspan of 6-foot-2.5), Brea is showing scouts that his overall skillset is still highly valuable. He’ll have a chance to add to his stock over the next 48 hours, too. Brea (along with fellow Wildcat, Otega Oweh) will participate in a couple of 5-on-5 scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday.
During his lone season with the Wildcats, Brea posted per-game averages of 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 28.1 minutes. He started 16 of 36 games played while shooting 47 percent from the field, an SEC-leading 43.5 percent from deep, and 91.4 percent from the free throw line.
