Jasper Johnson isn’t the only future Kentucky Wildcat who’s going to represent the USA on a global stage.

It was announced on Monday that Kentucky women’s basketball commit Maddyn Greenway, the No. 10 prospect in On3’s 2026 recruiting rankings, is set to join the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s U19 National Team. According to the press release that USA Basketball put out, she replaces Florida Gators sophomore Liv McGill, who is “no longer available to compete”.

This will be Greenway’s first time playing for Team USA. The five-star point guard was previously a finalist for the 2023 USA U16 National Team, also participating in trials for the 2024 USA U17 National Team. She was also one of 25 players that competed in trials for the U19 squad originally.

Also on the team is Sienna Betts, Addison Bjorn, Jasmine Davidson, Saniyah Hall, Kayleigh Heckel, Jordan Lee, Jerzy Robinson, Emilee Skinner and Zania Socka-Nguemen. Kentucky targets Sydney Douglas (2028) and Kate Harpring (2026) are also on the U19 team.

The team will travel to Brno, Czechia, for the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup from July 12-20. Per the release, “In Brno, USA Basketball will compete in Group A alongside Israel, Hungary and Korea. The red, white and blue will tip off vs. Korea on July 12 before taking on Hungary the following day, both at 2:15 p.m. ET. Group play concludes against Israel on July 15 at 8:30 a.m. ET.”

Hopefully, Greenway is able to show out and bring back some gold in the process.
