As long as La Familia continues to win, they’ll now continue to host for TBT.
Sunday was a double whammy for Kentucky Wildcats fans as La Familia escaped their matchup with War Ready with an 80-76 victory, and The Ville fell to Sideline Cancer, 73-63.
While La Familia’s first game of The Basketball Tournament was far from close, Sunday’s was quite the opposite. What was La Familia’s double-digit lead at halftime quickly crumbled, and things became chippy between the two teams, leading to a total of seven technical fouls being called in the game.
Archie Goodwin saved the day, however, converting a tough layup in traffic after the La Familia defense forced a War Ready turnover to push Kentucky over the 79-point mark.

For The Ville, it was a day to forget. They allowed Sideline Cancer to put together a 21-point lead through two quarters and shoot better than 60% from the field and 66% from the 3-point line for the entire game.
A loss for The Ville means that as long as La Familia keeps winning, they’ll keep hosting through the championship game. Imagine how crazy Memorial would be if a championship, not to mention $1 million for the Cats, was at stake.
For now, all eyes turn to Tuesday’s matchup with Eberlein Drive at 6 PM ET on FS2 inside Memorial Coliseum.
Be there.
