Nate Ament finally makes his decision.
In one of the biggest recruiting wins of the 2025 cycle, 5-star small forward Nate Ament has officially committed to the University of Tennessee Volunteers, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
The elite 6-foot-9 wing chose the Volunteers over Kentucky, Duke, Louisville, and Arkansas, capping off a hotly contested recruitment that spanned more than a year and included visits to each of his five finalists.
Ranked No. 4 nationally in the 2025 class by On3, Ament gives Tennessee a huge win on the recruiting trail and a potential day-one impact player. The Highland (VA) standout is coming off a stellar senior season, where he led his team to a 42-7 record and the VISAA Division I state title. Ament averaged 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, proving himself as one of the most versatile and productive players in the country.
Ament was also named a McDonald’s All-American and drew rave reviews during the all-star week. His breakout came last summer on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, where he averaged 15.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47% from the field, 42% from three, and 90% from the free-throw line — numbers that boosted his national profile and solidified his status as a blue-chip recruit.
With Ament now committed, Tennessee adds a premier wing talent to its 2025 class, beating out SEC rivals and college basketball heavyweights in the process.
And the SEC stays loaded.
