From an intern at Kentucky Sports Radio to experiencing a national championship firsthand, Wilder Treadway has seen a ton since graduating from UK back in 2015.
You might remember Wilder from his time covering the Kentucky Women’s Basketball team for KSR back during the KSRCollege days. But since then, he’s moved all across the country and most recently accepted a position at Stanford University out in California. During the 2020-21 basketball season, Wilder suited up as the Cardinal Women’s Basketball
student sports information director (SID), the same Stanford squad that beat the odds to win the NCAA National Championship. He was gifted with the unique opportunity to cover a title team, doing so (successfully) during a global pandemic.
In an interview with the UK Alumni Association, Wilder went into detail about what life was like during the last year-plus. We would encourage everyone to go check it out.

Stanford WBB had an even more difficult season than most, considering COVID-19 safety regulations in California made it nearly impossible to play home games. Wilder and the rest of the Cardinal team were on the road for over two months and weren’t allowed to play a game at home until the regular season was nearly finished in February.
Beyond that, Wilder talks about his game-to-game tactics working as an SID for a powerhouse program, how different this season was compared to those in the past, and he even gave a thoughtful shoutout to KSR, calling it his “connection back home.” If you have a moment, it’s well worth the read.
Congrats to Wilder!
