Starting Thursday night, 259 football players will achieve the dream of hearing their names called in the NFL Draft. ESPN senior NFL writer Todd McShay released his final Top 350 draft rankings this morning, and seven Kentucky Wildcats made the list. Here’s where they landed in the overall and position rankings:
25. Jamin Davis (Inside linebackers: 3)
64. Kelvin Joseph (Cornerbacks: 9)
197. Quinton Bohanna (Defensive tackles: 14)
200. Brandin Echols (Cornerbacks: 27)
206. Drake Jackson (Centers: 7)
287. Landon Young (Offensive tackles: 22)
310. Max Duffy (Punters: 3)
You’re gonna have a hard time convincing me there are two punters out there better than Max Duffy, but I digress. McShay also included write-ups of the top 50 prospects. This is what he said about Jamin Davis, who ranks No. 25 and has a Scouts Inc. grade of 90.
Davis is a long-levered and somewhat lean off-the-ball linebacker with very good speed and overall movement skills. He’s a downhill run defender with a very good closing burst, showing balance and short-area quickness. He can get pushed around on occasion when reached but uses his long arms and quick feet to keep off most blocks. And he is a very reliable tackler in space. Davis is still developing recognition skills in coverage.
McShay has Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, and LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase as his top three. You can see the complete list at the link below.
