Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having an incredible season having led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 68-14 record and the top seed in the West. His prolific level of play has him in the MVP conversation, but it also has him in an exclusive club with none other than His Airness.
The former Wildcat is averaging over 27 points and six assists per game while maintaining a turnover rate below 7%. According to Shane Young of Forbes Sports, the only other player in NBA history to put up those numbers for a full playoff run is Michael Jordan.
Gilgeous-Alexander averaged a league-best 32.7 points per game during the regular season on 51.9% shooting from the field — impressive for a player that NBA Twitter calls a “free-throw merchant”. He also put up 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game this year.
The Thunder are tied 2-2 with the 4-seed Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals. After getting a 92-87 bounce-back win on Sunday, Gilgeous-Alexander and Oklahoma City look to take the series lead tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
